Hiện thực song song – Exhibition
“Parallel Reality” is a story about a character who steps out of the “gray zone”, starting a journey to explore and feel the world. Each world depicted has its own color, thought and range of emotions, reflecting the reality that the character has witnessed, experienced, enjoyed and been stuck in. They can be similar, they can be opposite, but they always exist in parallel, intertwined and complement each other to become a larger whole that encompasses everything – a unique panorama. Cubism is effectively exploited and brings a strong impression of the division of space-time fragments from multiple dimensions of reality. Most of the works have bright colors, aiming to find connection with nature and live in harmony with the world of all things. This is also the main idea in Vu Tuan Viet’s current creative stage.
Memory and Body Mythology – Exhibition
Vin Gallery proudly presents Mahdi Abdullah’s solo show, “Memory and Body Mythology”. “Memory and Body Mythology” weaves together his personal experiences with the broader social, political, and environmental turbulences he has faced. From enduring armed conflicts and the devastating 2004 Aceh tsunami to witnessing contemporary societal unrest, Mahdi transforms these intense memories into artworks. In this creative process, he was inspired by Barthes’ concept of myth as a way of saying, manifested through various paintings he presented. Through his solo show, he will disclose the combination of realistic techniques and symbolic forms to capture profound memories and experiences.

Songs of Singularity – Exhibition

Galerie Quynh is pleased to present Songs of Singularity – an exhibition of new work by Brussels-based artist Trong Gia Nguyen. For his third solo exhibition at the gallery, Nguyen will exhibit four distinct, but connected bodies of work that foreground ideas of conservation, accessibility, reproduction, and attribution of artworks.
The old philosophical experiment query “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” has been transposed in Nguyen’s latest show into something more akin to “does a person truly exist when all material evidence of their existence has vanished?” or, as stated by the artist, “There is a tenuous relationship with the past if no objects survived that past apart from you.”

Thị – Her Exhibition
Guest Curator: Phan Linh Bao Hanh
Being a professional art practitioner since 2007, female painter Bao Hanh works on diverse topics varying from landscape, still-life, animal to people; from Kinh girl (Vietnamese main ethnicity) to Cham, Khmer, Hmong, and Bana who belong to the minority. However, the image of the “thị” seems to always attract attention and is somewhat more prominent than the rest. This figure of choice has created a personal identity whenever the name Bao Hanh is mentioned.
It can be said that Hanh paintings featuring women have sustainably attached to Primitivism. With this style, she mainly focuses on depicting the contrast between the stationary state of the character’s body movement and the vivid glittering eyes – like a window to their constantly moving inner selves. It is the hidden sorrow in a tender look, a determined look, a look that divulges the utmost pride, or a pure eagerness for new things. These nuances of the eyes seem to silently address the viewers so that they somehow feel connected with Hanh’s female figures whose characteristics might seem complex.

Now & Here IX – Exhibition
Guest Curator: Ozaki
Lotus Gallery is proud to showcase the 9th installment of Japanese artist Satoru Ozaki’s metal sculpture series, “Now & Here IX“. The stainless-steel work represents two people on different paths of life, symbolizing the chance encounters and fleeting moments that make up our lives.
The curving silhouettes represent two roads that will eventually converge, representing the destiny that life can bring. Through the artwork, the artist encourages viewers to cherish the present moment, appreciate their path, and embrace the beauty of life’s journey. The artwork is on display as part of Lotus Gallery’s “A date with art” event series, with extended hours on February 11th and 12th, and free flow of chocolate for visitors.
